Freedom to be Free!
Freedom is both a privilege and a responsibility.
Whether it is regarding political stance, religion, finances, relationships, or otherwise, the very nature of having freedom is to have choice. Having the freedom to choose places responsibilities on each of us, since we are ultimately responsible for our choices.
As we show gratitude for our freedom, I am encouraged and reminded that freedom is very seldom free. All things of value require decisions, commitments, and sometimes sacrifices.
When I was a teenager wanting my first car, I had the freedom to buy whatever I chose, as long as I accepted the fact that freedom also meant having a car payment to pay every month.
Thankfully, having that freedom to choose provided me with valuable life lessons.
“Freedom from something leads us toward freedom to something”.
